The United States of America is the third-largest country in the world.
It is a country of shocking proportions: everything is great, huge, infinite.
There are very large shops, gigantic skyscrapers that make everyone feel small in their presence, beautiful landscapes, and much more.
The USA currently is composed of 50 states and the five largest cities are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and Phoenix.
America is like a very big nation made of nations, each with its own identity; the most famous are California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Texas, and Vermont. But anyone at least once will have heard the name of each of the 50 states.
Americans have an open mind. They think big, they think that everything is possible: from this comes the expression “American Dream”.
The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, the set of ideals (democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity, and equality) in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success.

An interesting aspect to talk about is that of the American school system.
Prior to higher education, American students attend primary and secondary school for a combined total of 12 years.
Secondary school consists of two programs: the first is “middle school” or “junior high school” and the second program is “high school.”
After graduating high school, U.S. students may go on to college or university.
Sports play an important role in American society.
American Football is the most popular sport in America; the play consists of two teams of 11 players on the field, competing to score points by taking the ball from a starting point to a special 9 m deep area, called “the end zone”, located at either end of a field.
In American schools there is also the custom of organizing school dances; the main ones are 2. Homecoming is a dance organized towards the end of October to celebrate the beginning of the school year in most American schools. It’s a much-awaited event for American teenagers.
At the end of each school year is organized a prom, that is a gala ball. Sometimes are elected a King and a Queen of the prom.
The United States is a multinational country. It can also be called “the country of immigrants”. Each person of a different nationality who settled in America brought something new to the culture and traditions of the United States. Therefore, the rooted customs were mixed with many different and interesting traditions of other cultures. In fact, for every day of the calendar, in the USA there is a national event that is particular, if not for one state, then for another.
Americans are very cheerful people; they are able to make a real vacation from any normal day, only a couple of friends and a barbecue are enough for this.
If we talk about the traditions of the United States, we can talk about the people of the country. They do a lot of things, not just for fun, but also to celebrate their history.
