THE POWER OF MUSIC

Music is undoubtedly an indispensable tool that man cannot do without, regardless of personal tastes. Today, with all its diversifications, it is in fact present everywhere: radio, television, and the internet broadcast music all the time, just think that thanks to globalization and specialized sites such as iTunes it is possible to always be updated on the latest songs released, witnessing a practical need. always existed.
For example, in prehistoric times it was considered an expression of the spiritual world, while for the classical world it was an instrument of pleasure, which accompanied the reading of literary works (a tradition that then continued when the court singers gave way to the minstrels). These examples are only simple hints but they are effective because they show how human beings have always had the need to produce and listen to melodies and songs. We have thus arrived today, a particular historical moment in which music is not only within everyone’s reach, but is also connected to an idea of entertainment, a way to feel in harmony with the world, and is used to distract yourself from the daily monotony, to have fun in the company, but also to relax in solitude.
Have you ever thought about a world without music? Think about how this, for example, affects advertising, cinema, and TV series, emphasizing, as appropriate, the importance of a specific product or scene. Sometimes, if you notice it, a musical tune is more reminiscent than the product sold and this is symptomatic of the role that music plays: it attracts attention, and makes it participatory. Who hasn’t put on headphones and started a song, or listened to a CD, to get away from the daily grind?

The sound of music helps, it is therapeutic, but not only: it is a healthy way to have fun, whether it is listening alone or in a crowd at a concert.

In short, music accompanies us almost every hour of the day and in every place, from the supermarket to the dentist, on the street, on the beach. For us kids I think that music is an important experience, which plays a fundamental function in our life because it represents a way to get in touch with our emotional part: we get excited or get excited hearing the notes of our favorite song, we get emotional or have fun while we whistle a tune, or sing a song in the shower. I think it is an instrument for everyone and this is its spectacularity: you don’t need to be great connoisseurs and listen to Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, I think it’s enough to feel a song perfectly sewn on the skin to get excited. we get excited or excited when we hear the notes of our favorite song, we get emotional or have fun while we whistle a tune, or sing a song in the shower. I think it is an instrument for everyone and this is its spectacularity: you don’t need to be great connoisseurs and listen to Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, I think it’s enough to feel a song perfectly sewn on the skin to get excited.
When I am sad or disappointed, for some reason, I retreat to my room and listen to music until I can calm down. But above all I like to live it: since I don’t know how to play any instrument, I enjoy hearing who can make music, thinking that those songs are for me too. I love hearing live music, going to concerts with my friends, and sharing those moments. Listening to music among so many people makes me happy and thrilled so much that for days I can’t get rid of that feeling. I have to be honest, I have rarely felt such emotion, so when I have the opportunity I attend a concert, and my vision of the world changes. I really think that songs, at least certain songs, read us inside, they help us understand who we are and the era in which we live.

In my opinion, music is often underestimated, but in reality, a world without music would be a world without harmony. Today, which fortunately has become accessible to everyone thanks above all to technological progress, it has a special value and usefulness from my point of view. I conclude with a very personal note of mine: I firmly believe that music helps to know us, to understand our thoughts. Some argue that music is related to mathematics and that it is a set of rational operations. Maybe that’s the way it is, I’m not a specialist and I can’t argue in-depth, but I can certainly have my say: mathematics is logical and in some way music is also, but the latter reaches more to people’s hearts and does not confine to the brain. It is pure emotion, it is feeling.
