“That day is not today”

End of the state of emergency, back to normality?

In these two years, our life has changed radically, starting from the online lessons to the masks and the quarantine that have become part of our daily life. We have forgotten how to socialize and how to get to know a new person in reality and not behind a screen or a keyboard.

Staying days and days at home also made us lose the perception of time, sometimes the days passed slowly and never ended, while others passed quickly and we didn’t even realize it. One of the things I miss the most is having a deskmate, maybe for some, it may seem like a stupid thing, but having someone sitting next to you during the lessons, conversating and sometimes laughing is one of the best feelings.
I don’t know what it will be like to return to a normal life without masks after two years of the pandemic because it will be strange to see someone on the street and hug them without worrying about the safety distance.
In my opinion, from now on we will appreciate the little things more; we will return to have lunch with a friend in a restaurant, go to the shopping center, to the cinema, take a walk open air or go shopping with our family.

Many people died during this pandemic: children, adults, and the elderly; we must never forget these victims and be careful even after the end of the emergency. The covid will not disappear overnight, we are the only ones who have to learn to live with it. Surely one day we will finally be able to free ourselves from masks and covid, but that day is not today. I hope everything will be over soon because health is one of the most important things.
