After the demographic increase and scientific progress of the 1800s, many problems have affected our society such as global warming, polluted air and seas, smog-derived diseases. The cause might derive from the decline of moral values. In addition to environmental issues, we fight for respect and celebrate the day for the elimination of violence against women on November 25.
These days it is likely to run into surreal situations, but how did it actually come about?
A correct answer is looking within ourselves and around us.
In 1960, three political activists, the Mirabal sisters, were killed in the Dominican Republic by order of the dictator. In 1981, on the first Caribbean and Latin American feminist meeting members decided to celebrate November 25 in memory of the Marabal sisters.
Nowadays this hot topic faces the indifference from somebody, who certainly arouses dismay in the eyes of others. It is appropriate to mention the Italian minister Elena Bonetti who decided to debate this theme, but 8 out of 630 deputies attended the assembly. Why? Someone pays attention to risks associated with fumes and the use of fossil fuel but in this case, few or even no one has listened to her.
History teaches how to avoid repeating mistakes, but to take into account the opportunity to wipe out any cause of the decline of humanity.
