Having the chance and the luck to play in a basketball team with many foreign guys, I investigated the covid situation a bit around the world, both Europe and not.
I started investigating from Lithuania, where I asked for information from Arminas, a Lithuanian boy of 2001 who plays basketball. He told me that the Lithuanian people have taken the COVID situation very lightly, especially in this last period where they have also removed the obligation to mask. I asked what he thought about the pandemic, and he replied that he shares the thought of the people saying that the covid cannot block our lives.
So I took the flight from Lithuania and flew to Senegal, I asked Babacar, a boy from Dakar of 97, with Italian citizenship, for information.
He told me that in Senegal they are very tired of the covid state, as the economic situation is definitely not helping either.
It has fueled infant deaths and the hospitals are in a total emergency.
So I took the last flight, and I flew from Senegal to Serbia, here I asked Luka Todorovic “Todor”, a Serbian boy 2002 who plays basketball here, and he told me that in Serbia they have implemented the condition according to which Covid doesn’t exist; this is because the population is already poor, and in order not to hurt even more the economic situation, the government has decided to run a denialist policy, although people get sick and die.
Luka hopes the government will change its way of thinking.
I hope we will get out of this situation as soon as possible.
