CORONAVIRUS.

Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.

The first case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. It has since spread worldwide, leading to an ongoing pandemic.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are variable, but often include fever, cough, fatigue, breathing difficulties, and loss of smell and taste. Preventive measures include physical or social distancing, quarantining, ventilation of indoor spaces, covering coughs and sneezes, hand washing, and keeping unwashed hands away from the face.

Covid-19 spreads from person to person mainly through the respiratory route after an infected person coughs, sneezes, sings, talks or breathes.

Preventive measures to reduce the chances of infection include staying at home, wearing a mask in public, avoiding crowded places, keeping distance from others, ventilating indoor spaces, washing hands with soap and water often and for at least 20 seconds, practicing good respiratory hygiene, and avoiding touching the eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

A COVID-19 vaccine is any several different vaccine technologies intended to provide acquired immunity against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
