BODY PIERCING? NO, THANKS.

Today body piercing is practised all over the world. In particolar, it has seen a new interests in the last twenty years, becoming more and more a part of western culture. Evidence suggests that body piercing has been practised by people all over the world from ancient times. All every well-to-do Egyptian wore earrings to display his or her wealth and beauty. The Roman centurions pierced their nipples to signify their strength and virility. In England during the Renaissance and Elizabethan eras, almost every male member of the nobility had at least one earring, if not more. But what a “body piercing”is? It means the practice of piercing some superficial parts of the body in order to introduce objects in metal (sometimes adorned with precious stones ), bone , stone or other material, such as ornament or ritual practice. Reasons for body piercing can be different: religious, spiritual, erotic, but even conformity and identification with a subculture. The main purpose was to distinguish the roles assumed by the various members within the tribe, in order to regulate the relationships between the various individuals both in daily life and during ceremonies, making clear a whole series of information about the individual and his relationship with the group to which they belong. The 1980s and the 1990s showed a new interest in body piercing. Today celebrities, sport stars and famous singers all began to show a variety of piercings. Body piercing is serious decision. Before you decide what you want to do, sk your friends, your parents and other adults what the suggest you and what they think of. However, it’s important to know that there could be serious risks, such as infections, allergic reactions, bleeding and damges to nerves or teeth. Infections, in particular, may be caused by epatiti, HIV, tetanus and bacteria. If you decide to get a body piercing, please go to a reliable pierre, buy good jewellery, keep the site of piercing clean and away from irritating materials, and see your doctor if you have symptoms of an infection.
