A TRIP TO TAORMINA.

When we talk about Sicily, the name of Taormina always comes up. Everyone wants to visit Taormina and in fact it is one of the cities in Sicily with the largest influx of tourists every year.

You go on holiday to Taormina because it is a beautiful city, it is located in province of Messina, on the cliff overlooking the sea, which collides with the fascinating stones.

The heart of Taormina is elegant and refined as if time had not touched this historic center. The city is not very big, many of the streets are narrow, but they are all characteristic, some with small restaurants with tables outside to enjoy an excellent specialty while enjoying the cool shade of the plants.

You can visit there lots of attractions and above all the Greek theatre. It was built in the III BC by the Greek people and then taken up by the Romans who used to organize summer performances there. It stands on a hill above the sea so you can enjoy a fabulous view that embraces Capo Taormina and Isola Bella. Great place to take souvenir photos!

Another amazing attraction is Isolabella, undoubtely the most popular destination for all tourists: it is a small island that emerges from the sea being connected by a strip of sand to the mainland. It was donated by Ferdinand I of Bourbon to Pancrazio Ciprioti, mayor of Taormina and then bought in 1890 by Florence Trevelyan who enhanced it building a small house and planting rare plants.

By the end of the 19th century this picturesque and ancient town attracted famous visitors such as Oscar Wilde, Richard Wagner and Tsar Nicholas II.

Also nowadays, in every season, Taormina is worthy of being visited and known!
