London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. The city stands on the River Thames in the south-east of England. London was founded by the Romans.

The metropolitan area counts about 14 millions of residents. London is a multiethnic city because many foreigners live there. It has six airports and this makes London a global city. London is the second most visited city in the world for international tourism after Bangkok. In London it is possible to visit eight football stadiums:

  3. Loftus Road (QPR)
  4. Emirates Stadium (Arsenal)
  5. Hotspur Stadium (Tottenham)

London is a city full of attractions. The first beauty to visit in London is Trafalgar Square the main square that hosts the biggest museum of London. The second beauty to visit is Buckingham Palace, the residence of the royal family. The majestic palace has 775 rooms and it has a park of twenty hectares. The third beauty to visit is Big Ben and House of Parliament. The House of Parliament is a big building of 1200 rooms where there are the two Houses of the English Parliament and Big Ben which is the most accurate clock in the world.

The fourth beauty to visit is Tower Bridge, in the past it was an ancient medieval fortress but now it is the most famous elevated bridge in the world.

The boroughs of London are administrative subdivisions. Each of them has its own mayor and its own assembly. The boroughs are thirty-two, three boroughs have the title of royal borough: the borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the borough of Kingston upon Thames and the borough of Greenwich while Westminster has the title of city.
