Vikings is an historical tv series which talks about the legend of Ragnar Lothbrock, who from being a farmer became the king of Norway.
This tv series was created by Michael Hirst in 2013 and ended in 2020 (composed of 6 seasons). Main actors are Travis Fimmel as Ragnar, Katheryn Winnick as Lagertha, Clive Standen as Rollo and Alexander Ludwig as Bjorn (first Ragnarls son). It is set in Canada and Ireland and it talks about Vikings, their uses, their traditions, their Gods and about their invasions in many parts of the world. Infact during their first invasion in England they meet king Ecbert of Wessex with Which after many battles they make a deal.
I really liked this series because it’s very realistic (also in the scenes of the rituals or sacrifices), the dialogues are well structured, actors are great and they got into the characters very well. In addition the costumes are cool and the actors/ haircuts are iconics. I reccomend this series to people who like history and obviously Vikings and also to people who like wars and battles.
Personally watching this series and at the same time studying this population at school, I understood very well history and watching it in original language I improved my English skills and knew words that before I had never heard.
For this reason I would like to watch together with my classmates and professors more films or tv series
(historical or not),because this could make the lessons more interesting and improves students/ skills.
