This is the most used online learning method (e-learning) and takes place through the connection of pupils with the teacher, through digital platforms (Zoom, Skype, Google Meet and others). It allows direct communication between teacher and pupils and does not require a lot of preparatory work but suffers from problems related to the Internet connection. Each participant must be equipped with a PC, microphone and webcam and the quality of the lesson is closely linked to the quality of the equipment. In the case of large classes, a dedicated server would be required to manage the large amount of data that is transferred over the network per unit of time.
