The issue of food waste is unfortunately a very widespread problem About 2 billion tons of wasted food was reported by the British institute IME in in the world, since modern society has taken on an excessively consumerist mentality, which has led it to spend more and more.
Therefore excessive consumption should be eliminated immediately. ; but also too strict expiry dates placed on food are a real problem and numerous steps from producer to consumer in industrial food assembly lines influence the issue of food waste.
In the face of the billions of tons of food thrown in the trash, there is a billion people in the world who do not have access to sufficient food resources and this is an alarming fact that should make us reflect on our responsibility to preserve mankind in dignified conditions, that is, to respect everyone equally
In addition, over a third of the food produced each year for human consumption, or about 1.3 billion tons, is lost or wasted.
In industrialized countries alone, 222 million tons of food are thrown away every year: an amount that would be enough to feed the entire population of sub-Saharan Africa; while in Europe, the quantity amounts to 89 million tons, or an average of 180 kg per capita. To reinforce these figures, there is a greater domestic waste, which is recorded in England, followed by the United States, Italy, France and Germany.
Reflecting about it we must say that every citizen of the world should avoid it occured, it’s a duty of ours; in fact there are those who say that food waste is immoral when there are those who die of hunger and mostly produce waste to be disposed of, statements that cannot be ignored by anyone.
