Titanic: the film (1997)

Titanic is a wonderful film. It’s a love story but an action film too.

The film tells the story of Jack and Rose, two passengers on the Titanic but in two different sections because Rosy is a rich girl but Jack is a poor boy. Rose boards the departing ship with the upper-class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiancé, Caledon Hockley. Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game. Rose and Jack fall in love. Rose leaves her fiancee Caledon Hockley for this poor artist, but when the Titanic collides with the Iceberg on April 14th, 1912, and then when the ship sinks on April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning, Jack dies. Rose survives and 84 years later Rose tells the story about her life on Titanic to her grand daughter and friends and explains the first sight of Jack that falls into love, then into a fight for survival.

The main actors are Leonardo Di Caprio that plays the part of Jack and Kate Winslet that plays the part of Rose.

The movie is very close to the real tragedy. It shows a beautiful love story with an extremely sad ending. The acting is first-rate. Leonardo Di Caprio`s and Kate Winslet`s performance is really brilliant.

Titanic’s main characters, Rose and Jack, are not based on real history. They were inspired, to an extent, by some real-life people who were on board the Titanic.

The special effects in the film are fantastic. The ship in the film is identical to the real Titanic. They built part of it in the film studio and created part of it on a computer. The result is very realistic.

The director, writer and producer of the film is James Cameron and it was distributed by Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox.
