Also this year 25th Novemberwas celebrated the day against violence against women, a phenomenon unfortunately current in the world. This day was born in memory of the murder of three Mirabal sisters, considered an example of revolutionary women for the commitment which they tried to oppose the regime of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo (1930-1961). On November 25th, 1960, while on their way to visit their husbands in prison, they were stopped on the road by agents of agents the Military Intelligence Service, tortured, beaten with sticks and finally strangled, only to be thrown over a precipice to simulate an accident. Even after many years, similar events take place everyday where women are victims. According to UN Women, women globally have suffered some kinds of physical violence. In addition, phone calls to emergency numbers have increased fivefold in some countries due to the insecurity contribute to increasing women’s vulnerability around the world. According to the latest available data, it is estimated that 87,000 women killed worldwide, more than half were killed by partners or family members. The solution therefore lies in women who suffer violence everyday: confiding in someone and denouncing is the first step toward freedom, the regaining of one ‘s dignity and above all it is the 1st step toward salvation.
