Elizabeth II will celebrate 70 years of reign in 2022. She will be the first English Queen to reach this goal.
Less than one month before the expected Platinum Jubilee, the Country is already in a state of excitement for the event. The details of the celebrations have already been announced: from the parades to the concerts, passing through a horse race that the Queen will certainly appreciate, and a lot of other public events
The events have already started with the culinary competition for the “Platinum Pudding”, to find the best original recipe of pudding that will be judged by a panel of experts.
The winning recipe will be available to the public and the pudding will be enjoyed at the Big Jubilee Lunch.
It’s still unclear at which events the Queen is going to be present, but certainly most of the events will be attended by Prince Charles together with the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, starting with the Queen’s Green Canopy, that encourages citizens to plant new trees for the occasion.
Among the initiatives in preparation for June 2, the day on which Queen Elizabeth’s coronation anniversary is celebrated, there is a big parade that will take place in front of Windsor Castle and will see the participation of over a thousand artists and 500 horses that will retrace the modern history of Great Britain, from Elizabeth I to the present day.
A “River Of Hope”, a banner made up of 200 silk flags decorated with images of hope drawn by children, will be placed along the Mall in central London.
Lastly, the traditional Trooping the Colour will be held on 2 June, in which more than 1,400 soldiers on parade, 200 horses and 400 musicians will take part.
The Platinum Jubilee won’t be celebrated just in the UK, but also in the English Overseas Territories and, for the first time, in the capitals of Commonwealth Countries.
