Among the places to see in Lipari it is impossible not to visit the Old Church of Quattropani. It is actually the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima della Catena. It enjoys an extraordinary panorama. The sea kisses the sky, while the other islands appear proud in this blue carpet which instills an incredible sense of serenity.
Especially at sunset, when you can admire the sunset between the islands of Alicudi and Filicudi on one side and Salina on the other. To go to this place you have to walk 20 minutes from the bus stop.Chiesa Vecchia is located in a hamlet of Lipari called Quattropani, you can do many activities: such as nature walks, or you can also organize picnics in a place called Alta Pecora also located in Quattropani. In Chiesa Vecchia there is also the feast of the Madonna della Catena, fireworks are set off, there is a van that prepares sandwiches and also stalls with sweets and toys. Another place to absolutely visit is the Belvedere Di Quattrocchi, perhaps the best panoramic point in all of Lipari and one of the most beautiful in the entire archipelago of the Aeolian Islands. It is located just four kilometers from the city center. whit Belvedere di Quattrocchi we also find binoculars where you just need to insert a coin and you can see everything up close, there is also a kiosk that sells drinks and food for those who want to drink or eat something after a walk. The origin of the name comes from the fact that to fully appreciate the spectacle of the panorama, four eyes would be needed. The Quattrocchi Belvedere overlooks the Valle Muria beach and allows you to have a view of the town center of Lipari, the Pietra Lunga and Pietra Menalda stacks and the island of Vulcano. On the nicest days it is also possible to recognize Etna.
