Today I would like to talk about my favourite band: The Arctic Monkeys. They are a British rock band from High Green, Sheffield.
Who are the members? The band consists of Alex Turner (vocals, rhythm and lead guitar, piano), Jamie Cook (rhythm and lead guitar), Matt Helders (drums, second vocals) and Nick O’Malley (bass, second vocals). Andy Nicholson (bass, second vocals) left the group in 2006, shortly after the release of the first-time nightclub, while Glyn Jones left the group a couple of weeks after forming the group.
The group is often cited as an example of a band that emerged from the web, one of the very first to emerge in this way, in this sense they have shaped the possibility of a change in the way in which groups get attention and promote their music. Initially they became famous with a demo distributed on the Internet. The bulk of the work on the internet was done by their friends and fans, while the group just gave free demos to their concerts. The name Arctic Monkeys was chosen by Cook. They play indie music. They played in Sheffield for the first time in 2013.
Alex Turner is a British songwriter, he is the guitarist , the vocal and the autor of most of the lyrics.
The release of their first album made them enter the guinness book of records! Thanks to their studios work in 2007 which had a big success, they reached the top of the British chart and they won awards for the best band of the year. The song Favourite worst nightmare remains one of the most loved and requested songs at concerts.
I always listen to their music because it makes me feel happy!
