The resistance of the Ukrainian army continued, after the Kiev army blew up the bridge over the Seversky Donets to stop the advance of the Moscow military. Kiev soldiers bombed one of the bridges over the waterway. However, the Russian army has launched a new offensive operation in eastern Ukraine, focusing on the direction of Donetsk, and concentrating regiments in the area of the city of Izium.
There are reports of substantial Russian gains from the camp, but they are not decisive for the outcome of the war. Attention is focused on the locality of Lyman, in the Donbass, surrounded on three sides by the Russians, a pressing move that has been going on for days. Despite the Russian losses, the advance continues slowly, despite the fact that analysts continue to insist on the lack of soldiers, logistical difficulties and usury of the units. The destruction of the material sent by NATO is a constant message. The barrage mission is followed by forays by the commandos, which are the lightest cores that have infiltrated the enemy lines. In addition, the Russians are equipped with night visors, which grant advantages, which allow them to steal portions of territory from their opponents. The Russians took 959 prisoners, and there are only about fifty resistance commanders left in the Azvostal tunnels. The Russians now have plans to demolish the steel mills and it is unclear whether they will be inclined to exchange prisoners. In the Kharkiv sector, Zelensky’s soldiers forced the Russians to retreat and could try to affect other fronts as well. In addition, the defenders keep forces in reserve to buffer a possible attack, also counting on the flow of Atlantic aid. In Moscow, the Deputy Head of the National Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev reiterated that the special operation will continue until its objectives, including the demilitarisation, denazification of Ukraine and the defence of the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, are not fully achieved.
