Pelè, a great footballer

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better acquainted as Pele, is considered together with Maradona the greatest player of all time. Pelè is a sports executive and former Brazilian full-time forward footballer of the century for the international Olympic committee as well as FIFA. He was the golden ball of the century, voted by the previous winners of the golden ball subsequently received, the only footballer in the world, the honorary FIFA golden ball.

As a footballer, he linked his career mainly to Santos, with whom he won the Paulista championship ten times, the Rio-San-Paolo tournament four, the SERIE A Brasileiro championship six, and the Taca Brasil five times, as well as two super cups of intercontinental champions. Moved to the States of America in the final part of his career, he won an NASL Championship with the New York Cosmos.

He is the only footballer in the world to have won three editions of the football world championship, an event that took place with the Brazilian national team in 1958, 1962, and 1970. His goal scored against Sweden in the final of 1958 is considered the third greatest goal in the history of the FIFA World Cup and the first among those scored in a final of a world championship. 1281 in 1363 games, while in official matches he has scored 757 goals in 816 matches with a scoring average of 0.93 goals per game.

His father joão Ramos do Nascimento, or Dondinho, was also a professional footballer Bauru, within the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, where he learned the art of football.
