Cesare, Paolo and Daniel Maldini are three players who have made and perhaps will make the history of Milan. It all began on February 5, 1932 with the birth of Cesare Maldini. He spent 12 years of his life in Milan as a footballer and 9 as a coach, in total 21. As a footballer, he won the first of Milan’s 7 Cups as captain. He also coached Italy and his son Paolo from 1996 to 1998.
Cesare died on 3 April 2016. Paolo Maldini, a defender like his father, was the strongest of the Maldini’s dynasty, considered by many to be the best defender ever. He wins 5 of Milan’s 7 Champions League, in 1989, 1990, 1994, 2003 and 2007, 2 as captain. Now he is the manager of Milan 2022 champion of Italy. Another Maldini plays in this Milan. Daniel Maldini was born on 11 October 2001, and at the age of 20 he was already champion of Italy. Unlike his father and grandfather, he is an attacking midfielder. He scored a goal on his debut as a starter for the first team against La Spezia. The proof that the Maldini family is decisive for AC Milan are also the trophies. Milan have won 7 Champions League and 6 with the Maldini. Milan have won 19 Serie A championships, 12 with the Maldini.
However, the Maldini dynasty is missing very important things such as national trophies. With Italy none of the three has ever won anything, with Daniel who has yet to play his first game in the blue. However, Paolo Maldini has a great regret, who refused the call-up for the World Cup in Germany in 2006, due to the scandal that existed in Italy at that time, Calciopoli. That year, however, Italy won the world cup and Maldini has always said he wanted to go back in time and accept that call-up.
