“La Sicilia” is the most widespread newspaper in Eastern and Central Sicily. It is based in Catania, where it is published by Domenico Sanfilippo Editore and was founded in 1945.
In addition to the Etna capital, La Sicilia has editorial offices in Messina, Palermo, Syracuse, Caltanissetta, Agrigento, and Ragusa and correspondence offices in Trapani, Gela and Rome.
The newspaper currently consists of two columns: a national one, the same for all editions, and a local one, for the various provinces. In the Monday edition there is a third column dedicated to sports news.
