Jeon Jung-kook Jeon Jeong-guk LR, also known simply as Jungkook, is a South Korean singer and composer . Since 2013 he has been a member of the BTS musical group , under contract with Big Hit Music . Jeon Jung-kook was born on 1 September 1997 in Pusan , in the district of Mandeok-dong ( Buk district ), in a family consisting of parents and brother Jung-hyeon (born in June 1995).As a child he longed to become a badminton player , but in 2010 a performance of G-Dragon with Heartbreaker on television made him decide to become a singer. The following year he goes to audition for the South Korean talent showSuperstar K during the auditions in Taegu . He is not selected, but receives casting offers from seven entertainment companies; he finally chooses Big Hit Entertainment after seeing RM perform. He leaves Pusan to move to Seoul, where he continues his studies at Singu Middle School. To work on his dance skills in preparation for his debut as an idol , he attended the Movement Lifestyle dance school in Los Angeles for a month in July 2012, and the experience gave him the desire to become a choreographerby profession, before returning to devote himself to singing. In June 2012 he appears in the music video of Jo Kwon ‘s I’m Da One , and acts as a backup dancer for Glam before their debut. In June 2013, Jeon made his debut as a member of BTS with the release of the single 2 Cool 4 Skool . Over the years, he writes and produces several songs for the group, including Love is Not Over and Magic Shop . In September 2015, participates in the “One Dream, One Korea” campaign and its corresponding song, a collaboration between multiple Korean artists in memory of the Korean War . The song was released on September 24th and presented at the One K Concert in Seoul on October 15th of the same year. In 2016 he was the special presenter in an episode of Show! Eum-ak jungsim, appears in the variety pilot Kkonnor-ipae and in five episodes of the reality show Kkonminam bromance paired with Lee Min-woo of Shinhwa . He also performs in Bongmyeon ga-wang under the name of Fencing Man, competing in episodes 71 and 72. In July he presents the Show! Eum-ak jungsim Summer Festival in Ulsan together with Park Ji-min , Kim Sae-ron and Kim Min-jae , while in December of the same year he participated in the KBS ga-yo daechukje , interpreting the song I’m a Butterfly together with other artists born in 1997. His solo Begin dates back to that same year , contained in the album Wings , in which talks about his move to Seoul to become an idol and meeting with the members of BTS. In February 2017, she graduated in Applied Music from the Seoul School of Performing Arts, subsequently graduating from the Faculty of Entertainment and Telecommunications at Global Cyber University.
On 25 October 2018 Jeon receives the 5th class Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea along with the other BTS members. On November 6, he executesWe Don’t Talk Anymore with American singer Charlie Puth during the first edition of the Genie Music Awards .
On February 21, 2020, BTS ‘seventh studio album, Map of the Soul is released, which contains My Time , a solo in which Jeon expresses regret for missed youth experiences due to his career. The piece ranks 84th on the Billboard Hot 100 . On June 4, 2020 he publishes his first unreleased solo piece, the ballad Still With You , on SoundCloud . Later he signs some tracks of the ninth album Be , as well as directing the three music videos of Life Goes On , the leading single. In July 2021 he was appointed special presidential envoy for future generations and culture by South Korean President Moon Jae-in together with the other BTS members, and equipped with a diplomatic passport to participate in the United Nations General Assembly on September 20. On February 11, he releases the single Stay Alive for the soundtrack of the webtoon 7 Fates: Chakho , with which he makes his first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
