IS THIS PERSON RIGHT FOR ME?

Whenever you see him or her your heart skips, you cannot think straight anymore, you feel the butterflies in your stomach! Have you ever had this feeling? Do you know what this exactly means? Many young people would describe this as being in love! It is natural to feel this way as we grow up and we will experience this feeling so many times! But how can you really understand who is going to be the right person, the one you will be in love with forever? A special book full of wise advice has helped many young people to make the right choice. This book is the Bible and one of the most valuable pieces of advice that it gives is to recognize people’s secret heart. What does it really mean? Here is the answer: Look at your friend objectively. Be careful, though! You might be inclined to see only what you want to see. So take some time. Try to perceive the true nature of the person you like. It might seem difficult, but it is not impossible! For example: How does he/she treat his/her parents or friends? Is he/she disrespectful? What is his/her reputation? Is he/she manipulative? Does he/she ask to know your every move? The answer to these questions will help you to understand how he/she will relate with you. Of course, even the right person is an imperfect person and do not forget that you are imperfect too! But the key to a happy imperfect union is, once again, found in the Bible. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says: “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” So do you like anyone? Before you get carried away by your feeling, ask yourself: “Is this person right for me?” There is no need to rush into a decision. Just take your time and choose wisely!
