INTERVIEW WITH TOMMASO GIANI. NEW PROBLEMS, RENEWED SOLIDARITY ONLY BY HELPING EACH OTHER CAN WE OVERCOME THEM.

THROUGHOUT HISTORY, IN THE MOST COMPLEX MOMENTS, PEOPLE HAVE COME TOGETHER TO OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES
Tommaso Giani, future priest of Santa Croce, tells…
-Has the Covid revolutionized the aspects of the quotidian life?
«The pandemic has impoverished the quality of our lives, many places of encounter, important for forging bonds and making friends, are closed: libraries, gyms, stadiums. Even where we can still meet, at example at school, we are affected by the restrictions imposed, the relations have been modified. So let’s take what we can, let’s make treasure out of it».
-The “instructive” aspects in this situation?
«We starting to understand that the touch is fundamental for friendships and relations, we are realizing its importance, and that through it we express emotions without speaking».
-There is a story of solidarity that has hit you?
«It’s bonded to the “staying in church”, one of the fews opened spaces; together with the parish priest we have decided to live that privilege as a responsibility, giving voice to the realities which have closed. We invited an itinerant, a carousel, two actors, a dance teacher: the people mobilized with acts of generosity towards children and families. A little sign that shows how the people, when they hear a cry for help, hardly remains indifferent».
