HOT DOGS.

If you go to the USA  there are annual who eats the most hot dogs challenges. The winner is the one who gulps down the most hot dogs in 10 minutes. Hot dog is a colloquial name, that indicates a Viennese sausage , seasoned with ketchup or mustard. The sausage is small while the hotdogs is thicker. They are prepared by mixing the ingredients: meats, spices, binders and fillers in vats where rapidly moving blades grind and mix the ingredients in the same operation. This mixture is forced through tubes into casings for cooking.

 The wurstels, instead,   are different because they are usages of cooked meat in the shape of a long sausage and can consist of different types of meat, usually chicken and beef.

The  origins of hot dogs  date back centuries before Columbus.. . it is believed that the first hot dogs were sold by a German immigrant in new York in the 1860 with the name of dashhund sausages.

Who invented the hot dog? Its origins can be traced back to 700 BCE in Omer’s Odyssey.

In 1936 Queen Elizabeth made her first royal visit to the USA and President Roosvelt hosted a pic –nic; the Queen having never tried it before, asked “how do you eat it?

The  world’s longest hot dog was 60 meters (197 ft) long and rested within a 60.3-meter (198 ft) bun,  in celebration of the Association’s 50th anniversary on August 4, 2006, at the Akasaka Prince Hotel in Tokyo.
