Fortnite is a 2017 video game developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly. The game features three distinct modes that share the same graphics engine: Save the World, Creative Mode and Battle Royale. Save the world: Save the World mode is set in a post-apocalyptic land, where the sudden appearance of a global storm has made 98% of the population disappear, partly replaced by dangerous alien creatures. Fortnite offers co-operation modes for up to four players for the accomplishment of various missions to gather resources, build fortifications around objectives that are meant to help fight the storm and protect survivors, and build weapons and traps to face the waves of these creature. Players get rewards through these missions to improve their skills. The game also features microtransactions to purchase in-game currency, which can be used to obtain upgrades. This mode was published on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is set on an island where 100 players fight for survival. There are three distinct modes within the game: single, pairs, trios and teams. The mode was officially launched by Epic Games on September 26, 2017, while the trailer was released on YouTube on September 20. In addition to the battle royale, the game features several limited-time modes, which can also become permanent, such as Team Brawl. The Creative Mode, where you can create maps and games with the rules they want. Released in December 2018, it has been very successful and is frequently updated with new contents. The constructions and features are analogous to Battle Royale, and any microtransaction performed in one of the two modes will automatically carry over to the other and vice versa.
