Aristotle had already recognized an affinity between politics and communication in his famous work (politics).
It argued that human beings who deal with politics are nothing but animals with the faculty of speech. It is necessary to indicate what is useless and what is harmful, and therefore also what is right and what is unjust. This is, in fact, the real difference between man and animals: the fact that they only perceive good and evil, right and wrong.
The electoral campaign is the set of political propaganda activities carried out by political parties, movements and civic lists in favor of their candidates for any elective office, and serves to confuse and entice more voters and possible votes in favor. Well … it should be communication between the deputy and the voter. I use the present conditional, because I honestly don’t trust the politicians we have very much.
Indeed I believe that all the lies that are told during an election campaign, perhaps they are not told in a lifetime, but the electoral campaign must make sure to upset your ideas and be influenced by the thought that maybe even the politician you don’t like makes you want to vote for him. For the most part, an electoral campaign is enough on promises that they never keep and they also try to scrutinize the opponent.
I will be next to vote, I am about to turn eighteen; if you are here in Italy, at the age of 18 you can vote … but who? Today politicians with their electoral campaigns promise you hands and mountains, but tomorrow, when they come to power they forget about the people who showed them the seat thanks to the vote and for this reason in my beautiful country things are not going well at all, unfortunately; they think selfishly and not for the good of the people.
I hope that one day a politician who is different from everyone else arrives and with an electoral campaign that manages to communicate, will be descending to our modest level of “mere mortal”.
