Comment of “The tragedy of the kindergarten in L’Aquila”

While the world is already very upset by the Russia-Ukraine war, a tragedy breaks out in Italy: a car breaks through the gate of a kindergarten and hits six children.

The article “The tragedy of the L’Aquila kindergarten”, published on the Agi.it website, sheds light on the event.

It all happens in the “Primo Maggio ” kindergarten on May 18, 2022. The car was parked uphill and, as the article says, for reasons that are still unclear, it picked up speed, breaking through the gate, overwhelming six children, four of whom were slightly injured , one hospitalized in the “Gesù Bambino” in Rome, and one dead.

The whole city will be in mourning for the horrible tragedy.

The woman driving the car, according to an initial reconstruction, probably moved away from it, leaving her 10-year-old son inside. Maybe because of the child or maybe just a problem with the vehicle, the handbrake released and the car, parked uphill, picked up speed and smashed the gate. For the moment the woman is still under investigation for street murder.

This event is one of the most tragic of recent years; to be involved were children between 3 and 5 years, who had not yet experienced the world, and one of them will never be able to do it. Tragedies happen when we least expect them and many times are closer than we expect.
