Zalando, how to conquer Europe

In 2008 two young people, Robert Gentz and David Schneider, after having already created various e-commerce projects and having enriched themselves with them, decided to go further and founded Ifansho, in their small shared apartment in Berlin.

Later it will take the name of Zalando which according to some is an Italian-German hybrid between the word Zahlen, German, which means to pay and from the suffix -ando that represents “the action” in Italian. We can call it a sort of German-Italian translation of the paying verb. Zalando was originally born as an e-commerce of flip-flops. A year later many things will change because the two entrepreneurs will start buying various types of shoes and various garments, so as to expand their sales. In a few years the company has had a total rise in Europe.

Compared to other e-commerce sites, Zalando stood out for its super efficient support and fast and traceable shipping. Just think that in the beginning the company’s assistance was formed by only two owners who responded directly on their mobile to customers who needed help or information. Another strong point of Zalando are the returns, totally free with 100 days after purchase and really fast. Nowadays, the company is the most clicked online fashion platform in Europe with 24 million customers. The site is mostly viewed by young people, given the many fashionable items of the biggest brands such as Nike, Adidas, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and many others. In short, it is a reliable, professional and also economical site if you find the right offer. Out of nowhere, two guys have created an empire in e-commerce and certainly will not stop here.
