Wonder

Wonder is a book published in 2012 written by R. J. Palacio, about the story of a 10-year-old boy with a severe craniofacial malformation caused by Treacher Collins syndrome.

In order to see and hear well he had to undergo 27 surgeries, for fear of the reaction of other children he never went to school. When it’s time to enter sixth grade, his parents decide to let him go to Beecher Prep School, and the principal has asked three students (Julian Albans, Jack Will and Charlotte) to show him around the school.

From the first meeting Julian proves unpleasant, Charlotte friendly and Jack very nice. At the beginning of school Julian always teases him by being bad, and the only one sitting next to Aggie is Jack, now his best friend.

The story is told from different points of view: Auggie, sister Olivia, Justin, Jack, Miranda etc. This detail makes it very interesting because the same story can be seen from different points of view and know everyone’s opinion.

The protagonists are: Isabel Pullman, Nate Pullman, August Pullman, Olivia Pullman, principal Kiap, Miranda, Justin, Jack, Julian, Summer, Charlotte.

This book has aroused many emotions in me, especially the ending which is very moving, because he manages to make others understand that he is not different from all the others only for his face but is the same as all the other children.

This book is really beautiful, I recommend it to everyone!
