Vladimir Putin is a politician, ex military and former Russian KGB official. He spent 16 years of his life in the KGB that he joined at the end of his study. First he worked in Leningrad in intelligence from the territory, then he had a promotion and he got a year – long study in the famous intelligence academy. In 1995 he entered the second biggest KGB office, in East German, in Dresden. He was an assistant to the Dean of the Leningrad University and his career in KGB was over.
The mentality of KGB was that of an extreme statist that believes in Russian greatness and in Russia as a great empire.
He has been President of the Russian Federation from May 7, 2012 to his 4th term and he was also Prime Minster from 1999 to 2000.
Putin was born on October 7, in 1952 and today he is about 70 years old. This year he has started a war against Ukraine because he wants to bring Russia closer to the west. The Russian invasion began on the night between February 23 and 24, 2022, when Putin gave order to attack Ukraine. He said it was a “special operation” to “demilitarize” the country and “protect” Donbas. The war does not seem to have an immediate end, despite of the attempts to negotiate.
On February 28 Putin caused the death of 16 children in Ukraine and bombing are continuing in Ukrainian cities. Putin talks about military targets but he is killing people and children.
A new round of negotiations is expected, but Putin doesn’t stop his military action.
The Italian Government has declared a state of emergency and has given the OK to the decree on sending military vehicles and aids to Kiev. European countries are preparing to welcome refugees: over half a million Ukrainians have already left their country.
