The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was a federal state that stretched between Eastern Europe and North Asia, born on 30 December 1922 after the Russian civil war and officially dissolved on 26 December 1991.It was composed of 15 socialist republics (including the ‘Ukraine), the largest of which was Russia. Ukraine declared its independence on August 24, 1991. To date in Russia there is a dictatorial regime under the control of Vladimir Putin and Ukraine is a democratic state under the leadership of Volodymyr Zelenskyj. On February 24, 2022, Russia invades the Ukrainian territory because Putin has always shown himself opposed to Ukraine’s desire to join NATO. Through news and television news we know that the city of Kiev is being bombed by the Russians and thousands of innocent civilians are dying. I think Russia should stop the bombing and offensives against Ukraine because I want peace all over the world.
