The importance of an excellent structure for a beautiful holiday

In Italy, there are a lot of Unesco sites that attract a great number of tourists every year. It is clear that tourism is an important sector of the Italian economy and that it can make an important contribution to the country’s economy. Natural and cultural heritage assets constitute important components of tourism destinations, playing a crucial role as pull factors for tourist flows.

This potential, therefore, requires infrastructure investments. In recent years in Italy there has been a long process of restructuring which has led to a decrease in the number of structures in hotelier but an increase in their quality: for example, the number of rooms and beds have increased.

In addition, there has been a “rebalancing” of the offer towards medium-high quality hotels with a reduction of 1 or 2-star hotels. This process was more intense in the northern regions than in the central and southern regions, but the average size of hotel establishments is in any case higher in the southern regions and the presence of superior category hotels is also greater. This is certainly explained by the more intense development of the tourist offer in this area of the country.

An example is the “Villa Sant’Andrea” hotel in Taormina. It opens with a view of the crystal clear waters of the Bay of Mazzarò. It is a luxurious structure of the past, housed in an aristocratic residence of the 1800s. Its interiors are made up of antiques and fine period paintings.

A typical perfect day in this hotel begins on the private beach, where you can stop in a fantastic “cabana” (a sort of private 5-star gazebo), and then continue in the sea-view pool, maybe drinking a cocktail, for example, the local specialty: a Campari with Sicilian blood oranges and grilled seafood or one of the fine wines available at the hotel bar.

If you want, you can also relax and enjoy a fantastic spa with a wide range of beauty treatments based on fragrant essences of orange blossom, sandalwood, and jasmine or play peaceful activities like fishing.

To close it all, you can have a delicious dinner on the panoramic terrace of the Oliviero restaurant.
