There are several places in the Aeolian Islands that offer spectacular views to admire the sunsets. Here are some of the best places:
1. Stromboli: Ficogrande beach offers a spectacular view of the sunset with the background of the active Stromboli vulcano.
2. Panarea: The highest point of the island, Punta del Corvo, offers an ideal panoramic view for admire the sunset over the sea.
3. Lipari: Lipari Castle is an excellent observation point to enjoy the sunset as the sun disappears behind the other islands of the archipelago. There is also the Quattrocchi viewpoint which shows us the Lipari stacks and the island of Vulcano in the background.
In Quattropani, specifically the “old church”, we find a beautiful panorama of Salina island, where on the horizon we can also admire the smallest islands of the archipelago, Filicudi and Alicudi.
4.Vulcano: we find a beautiful sunset on the “black beaches”, overlooking the sea which gives a sense of serenity.
5.Salina: The area around Pollara offers a suggestive setting for sunsets, with the cliffs overlooking the sea which are tinged with warm colors as the sun goes down.
6. Filicudi: The Filo dell’Arpa viewpoint offers an exceptional panoramic view to admire the sunset on the horizon.
7. Alicudi: The area around the port and Punta are excellent observation points for enjoying the sunset over Alicudi.
