Press Review: Pope Francis to visit Malta April 2-3

Pope Francis will visit Malta on April 2-3, the Vatican said Thursday.

“Accepting the invitation of the president of the republic of Malta, the authorities and Catholic Church in the country, Pope Francis will carry out an Apostolic Journey to Malta on April 2 and 2 2022,” said the head of the Holy See’s press office, Matteo Bruni.

The Argentine pontiff will take in the cities of Valletta, Rabat, and Floriana, as well as the island of Gozo, Bruni said.

He said the full schedule and further details of the trip would be released shortly.
