My favourite thing I saw in Malta
By: Paolo Merlino – 3 SIA
An experience I’d personally tell anyone to do at least once in their life
We got to Malta during the night of the 9th March. We then went to our hotel, the Salini Resort, where we spent our first night.
We spent our days there visiting various cities around the country like St. Julian’s, Mdina, Valletta, and we even visited the island of Gozo – it was all very exciting.

My favourite spot was definitely Rabat.
There we went to St. Paul’s Cathedral, St. Paul’s Grotto, and the catacombs, which were by far my favourite thing.
It was really beautiful being able to explore a place like the catacombs, rich in history and culture. I’d definitely visit Rabat and the Catacombs again.
However, all the cities were beautiful and packed full of stuff I had never seen before in my life. It was an opportunity that I couldn’t miss.
Some of the things I liked the most were:
- The Saluting Battery in Valletta
- The city of Sliema
- The Mdina city and gate
