CHINESE NEW YEAR.

Did you know that Chinese New Year is in February?

It’s a time for saying goodbye to the past year and saying hello to the new year!

There are many traditions and activities. People clean their houses in a special way because they don’t want bad luck. At midnight on New Year’s Eve they open their doors and windows. Red is a very important colour because it sends spirits away. So people wear new red clothes and they decorate their  homes and streets with red paper decorations. On the fifteenth day there’s the lantern festival: people carry   lanterns around the streets and hang them up in their homes.
