Are we living a truly “social” life?

I would like to write about teenagers and their relationship with smartphones.

I’ll start with social media. Nowadays, a lot of kids have a social profile on Instagram or Tik Tok. They post photographs without realizing how many people see them and that there are a lot of dangerous people online. Although it is easy to say but not to do, we should learn to be more civilized in the digital world, especially on social media. I must say that we shouldn’t give any personal information to anyone we meet online and we should also be very polite to people. There are a lot more rules we can talk about, but I think these are the most important ones.

There are a number of problems we can look at: everybody is on their phone 24/7 and we stop appreciating the people we have around us because we are convinced that our cellphones are enough. Often we are constantly scrolling on social media and sometimes we don’t even realize it. This proves how social media is making us useless.

The time that we waste on social media could be used to do a million things – more productive for sure. I personally think that we should go back to the days where phones were only used for calling people. We should be enjoying “real life” and try to go outside and play sports, go for a walk or maybe do some creative activities.

What I am saying is that it is ok to use social media but I also think that we shouldn’t spend all the free time we have scrolling and staring at our phones – we should do other things as well. If you really want to stay on your phone, why don’t you try to do other activities like drawing? If you have a tablet, try to draw on there…it will be fun! The picture you see above was drawn by me on my iPad!

Technology is wonderful but we should learn how to use it wisely!
