Welcome back to our tour of this fantastic land. Today we are going to visit – virtually – the precious city of Messina.

Messina is a port city in northeastern Sicily, separated from mainland Italy by the Strait of Messina. It is known for its Cathedral, since the Norman era. Nearby it is possible to see marble fountains decorated with mythological figures, such as the Fountain of Orion, with its carved inscriptions, and the Fountain of Neptune, surmounted by a statue of the god of the sea.

An important village of Messina is Taormina nicknamed “the Pearl of Sicily”. It is famous all over the world for the magnificent panorama it offers on the plain of Catania, Etna and Isola Bella. It is one of the most touristy cities in Sicily!

Corso Umberto is the main street that crosses the whole center of Taormina. On both sides, you can find a number of luxury boutiques, jewelry stores, clothing and souvenir shops, and this will immediately make you understand why Taormina is nicknamed “the Sicilian Saint Tropez”.
In Corso Umberto there is a very particular alley, Vicolo Stretto where only one person can walk at time…

Now it’s your turn to go sightseeing!
