Pandora is a Danish jewellery manufacturing and distribution company. Pandora is known for her bracelets with customizable pendants, designer rings, necklaces and watches (now out of production). The company has a production site in Thailand and markets its products in more than 100 countries on six continents with more than 7,000 stores. Founded in 1982 by Per Enevoldsen in Copenhagen as a family-run jewelry store, the company has since established itself as an international brand in the production of customizable bracelets, rings, necklaces and watches. Thanks to good business in this sector, in 1988 Enevoldsen hired designers and the following year opened in northern Thailand, at the gates of Chiang Mai, a production site that became then an eco factory. The Danish private equity group Axcel bought 60% of the shares from the Enevoldsen family in 2008. The shares were sold in one of the largest European Ipos of 2010, giving Pandora a market capital of approximately DKK 27 billion. The company is publicly listed on the Danish stock market. Pandora is in terms of sales the third largest jewelry manufacturer in the world, after Cartier and Tiffany. In 2017 it recorded a turnover of 3.1 billion euros with an increase of 12%. The biggest sales in the USA , then the United Kingdom and third Italy. Pandora jewelry sales began in Europe, extending to North America in 2003. The company opened several concept stores before proposing its own franchise model, which began in Australia in 2009. The company is present in 100 countries and employs over 9,000 people. Pandora launched an online sales platform in 2011.
It is a very popular brand among young people and beyond. The special thing about the jewellery is that it is suitable for every occasion and can also be personalised. I too have one that I treasure so much; I always wear it and with it I keep indelible memories.
